Joyita Mondal, the first Bengali transgender woman to serve on a civil court judicial panel, hails from West Bengal, India. Despite facing discrimination in her youth, she persevered, obtaining a law degree while advocating for transgender rights. Mondal founded Dinajpur Notun Alo, an organization aiding her community. As a Lok Adalat judge, she champions social justice, tackling issues like loan recovery and supporting HIV-positive elderly individuals.
